FindMe is a compact waterproof device for satellite navigation monitoring of the object, distinguished by its continuous off-line operation. FindMe is developed to be installed in the object and subsequently determine the coordinates of its location.
The device comprises a GSM-module and a 66-channel GPS-module.
Specifications:
Temperature Range:
Operating temperature: -20°C ... +60°C;
Power consumption:
in hibernation mode - 15 microampere;
in operational mode – 300 microampere;
Dimensions:
Case dimensions: 90x60x20 mm.
Weight - 100 g.
Operation mode:
The device has three operation modes:
registration mode;
standard mode;
search mode;
Positioning technologies:
Since operation relies on GSM-and GPS-modules, FindMe positions the object according to two technologies at the same time: GPS and LBS.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) - positioning system virtually anywhere in the world. The essence of the GPS system is reduced to measuring the signal propagation delay. Satellite transmits the exact time and service information, which comes with a certain delay to the GPS-antenna. As we know in advance the position of a satellite in orbit and the speed of free propagation - 300 000 km / sec, the receiver can easily calculate the distance to the satellite is transmitting information. Such a measurement is performed for all visible satellites receiver, and then GPS-chip triangulation method computes its location. In theory, for 2-dimensional coordinates (latitude, longitude) of the receiver to receive information only from 3 satellites, and for 3-dimensional (latitude, longitude, height) - with 4. But in practice the speed of signal propagation in the atmosphere is different from the 300 000 km / h, since atoms and molecules of the atmosphere under the influence of the electric field begin to emit radio waves at the same frequency but with different amplitudes and phases, that just leads to a change in phase velocity and energy absorption of the original radio. Therefore, to increase accuracy, advanced GPS-receivers to acquire a large number of channels receiving the signal, which allows taking multiple signals in parallel, to give coordinates to within 10 meters.
LBS (Location Based Services) - is the technology allowing to position the object not according to satellite data but using the nearest GSM-stations. The device sends a signal to base stations and they, in their turn, position the device according to signal intensity and their coverage range. When using LBS technology, positioning accuracy is somewhat lower as compared to GPS (GPS technology positioning accuracy is about 10 meters, whereas LBS technology provides the accuracy of 200-500 meters), but LBS is an indispensable tool for finding the object in case GPS is unavailable (e.g. in case of a theft the car can be GPS-jammed or placed in the underground car park, in the concrete garage).
Device application domain:
Monitoring vehicles, people and any other mobile objects, namely:
- detection of a vehicle in case of its theft;
- object positioning (it may be valuable goods being transported on the territory of the Russian Federation);
- tracking children, the elderly, animals;
The main advantages of FindMe:
- the device is easy to install and operate without qualified technical support;
- due to device low cost as compared to its analogs, any user can afford FindMe;
- during operation the device does not require additional material expenditures, such as subscription fees;
- as two technologies are used, the device will never fail to position the object even in the areas where signal detection is hampered (such as underground car parks, concrete garages, etc.);
- the device operating principle ensures a high level of protection against scanning;
- the maximum period of off-line operation of the device is up to 2 years;
- the device is resistant to high and low temperatures (from -20°C to +60°C);
- the device is waterproof which provides more options for its installation in the object;
- access to monitoring data on the website www.911.fm
