Durability test at sinusoidal vibration influence (vibration resistance test)

In February, 2009 the certification testing of GSM modem MC35iT COMIndustrialDIN was carried out, including vibration resistance test. The test was performed according to the requirements of State Standard Certification 30630.1.2-99, method 103-1.1 – the testing by the sweep-frequency method including the whole range of required frequency. This method implies sinusoidal vibration influence at continuous frequency change in the whole range of frequency from the lower to the upper value and backwards (sweep cycle). The vibration characteristics were set for 15th degree of hardness State Standard Certification 30630.1.2-99, table 3:

The testing was performed by X, Y and Z axis for 24 hours. The testing device consisted of electrodynamic vibration tester VSH-100-1,vibration control system К2Sprint and PC(with SW).

3 GSM modems were tested for vibration resistance. After that their functionality was tested using the program module “LabTest.exe”. All modems have shown stable functionality results – they respond to the AT – programs, registration in the network is stable, receiving and transmission of data is correct. Visual inspection of PCB did not show any soldering defects.
